Facebook, Twitter and the Final Four

As you are surely aware both the UConn men's and women's basketball teams will be playing in the Final Four this weekend. Seeing as I run a website called "TheUConnBlog," I think this is a very good thing and I hope you do as well. It also means we'll have some more visitors than usual popping in so I wanted to take a minute to welcome everyone (though there are some things in here for you long-time readers as well).

First of all, welcome, we're glad you're here. If you don't have a username yet, please feel free to register (it's super easy) and join our discussions. We've grown a lot since we came over to SBNation in January of 2010 and a big reason for that is the great community of commenters we have. We're always thrilled to have new commenters and perspectives and we want to hear from you.

Second, if you're on Twitter, follow us @TheUConnBlog. Not on Twitter yet? Why not? It's great and we put a ton of content up there. We talk about UConn stuff all day but there isn't always enough to put into a post. If that's the case Twitter is where we go. We have barely touched on the women's team on the main site this month but the twitter feed has had plenty of women's tidbits. I'm going to be in Houston this weekend and whatever I see and hear is going to wind up on Twitter before it hits the site. Plus, a lot of Meacham's funniest material goes straight into the twitter feed and we're good for at least one big twitter fight each month with the guys over at BC Interruption. Oh, and if you're already following us on Twitter, please give us a retweet and recommend us to your followers. With every person that learns about us the community has the chance to grow and improve.

Third, like us on Facebook. You may have noticed our handy new Facebook widget in the sidebar (it's helpfully reproduced in this post), it has a big "LIKE" button in it. You should click that. Why? All of our content gets feed to our facebook page so it gives you an easier way to access us through your newsfeed. That way if you see a post you like you can use the "like" feature to share it with friends and spread the word about the Huskies. Good for you, good for us, good for all.

We're working on a lot of great stuff for this week and we hope you enjoy it. We'll have previews, recaps, my coverage from Houston and OpenThreads for every Final Four game that both teams play in. We hope you like it and thanks for stopping by, we appreciate your support. Go Huskies.
