Big East Football Power Rankings Week 12

Welcome back to the Big East Football Power Rankings. Every week the editors of SB Nation's Big East blogs will cast their vote in an attempt to measure the current state of the Big East. The results are below.

If you want turnover and poorly played madness, the Big East is more than happy to provide it. UConn and Rutgers were the only two teams to maintain their spots in the weekly poll, and everyone else's ranking just went to hell. Just look at Louisville, which was voted as high as 3 and as low as 7.

West Virginia is your new No. 1, which seems fair, seeing as they beat the old No. 1, Cincinnati. Still, three of our eight voters saw fit to keep the Bearcats on top, perhaps because West Virginia was blown out by Syracuse (our new No. 8, thanks to South Florida).

The point is, this whole conference is a mess. If you look at the standings, Cincinnati is technically in first place, but there are five teams within one game of them in the loss column  and with three weeks to go the possibility of a three- or four-team tie atop the league seems all to real.
