Big East Football Power Rankings Week 10

There is nothing like a bye to keep your team in first place.

Welcome back to the Big East Football Power Rankings. Every week the editors of SB Nation's Big East blogs will cast their vote in an attempt to measure the current state of the Big East. The results are below.

Here's what we know: First, everyone is bad. Second, even though everyone is bad, we all agree that both Cincinnati and West Virginia (unanimous No. 1 and 2 choices, respectively) are less bad than everyone else. Third, UConn and South Florida, who fought a close battle for last place, are worse than everyone else.

But that's it. The middle of the conference is a complete mess, Syracuse blows out West Virginia one week (rising to No. 2) and then gets blown out by Louisvlle (and falls to No. 6, while Lousiville vaults into the Top 3). Pittsburgh beat UConn handily, but they lost Ray Graham, so they're a big question mark going forward. Rutgers? Well, they're Rutgers, and no one is really sure what to say about them, so we just stuff them in the middle.

1. Cincinnati (9) (6-1, 2-0): 72 points -- BYE -- Last Week: 1

2. West Virginia (6-2, 2-1): 63 points -- @ Rutgers W 41-31 -- Last Week: 3

3. Louisville (4-4, 2-1): 47 points -- vs. Syracuse W 27-10 -- Last Week: 6

4. Rutgers (5-3, 2-2): 43 points -- vs. West Virginia L 41-31  -- Last Week: 4

5. Pittsburgh (4-4, 2-1): 36 points -- vs. UConn W 35-20 -- Last Week: 5

6. Syracuse (5-3, 1-2): 32 points -- @ Louisville L 27-10  -- Last Week: 2

7. UConn (3-5, 1-2): 15 points -- @ Pittsburgh L 35-20 -- Last Week: 7

8. South Florida (4-3, 0-3): 13 points -- BYE -- Last Week: 8
