Big East Football Power Rankings Week 6

Seems about right to me.

Welcome back to the Big East Football Power Rankings. Every week the editors of SB Nation's Big East blogs will cast their vote in an attempt to measure the current state of the Big East. The results are below.

Finally, Big East play is upon us and we can get a better idea of just how these eight teams matchup. Take South Florida for instance, last week they were flying high and on top of the poll? This week? They're in fourth after being waxed 44-17 by Pittsbrugh, who climbed two spots to number two. West Virginia took the opportunity to grab the top spot and Cincinnati stayed in third.

However, those four are really the "haves" of this conference. The remaining four separated themselves in their own way -- by out derping one another. Rutgers "beat" Syracuse in a game that only had a winner because NCAA rules require it. Louisville and UConn both hosted non-BCS schools and lost. They're all bad, let's leave it at that.

UConn is in last because UConn is bad, and they don't deserve nice things.

1. West Virginia (8) (4-1): 64 points -- vs. Bowling Green W 55-10 -- Last Week: 2

2. Pittsburgh (3-2, 1-0): 52 points -- vs. South Florida W 44-17 -- Last Week: 4

3. Cincinnati (4-1): 48 points -- @ Miami (OH) W 27-0 -- Last Week: 3

4. South Florida (4-1, 0-1): 43 points -- @ Pittsburgh L 44-17 -- Last Week: 1

5. Rutgers (3-1, 1-0): 33 points -- @ Syracuse W 19-16 OT -- Last Week: 5

6. Syracuse (3-2, 0-1): 24 points -- vs. Rutgers L 19-16 OT  -- Last Week: 6

7. Louisville (2-2): 15 points -- vs. Marshall L 17-13 -- Last Week: 7

8. UConn (2-3): 9 points -- vs. W Michigan L 38-31 -- Last Week: 8

Past Rankings: Week 1 | Week 2 | Week 3 | Week 4 | Week 5

Individual ballots are after the jump.
