Big East Football Power Rankings Week 8

Welcome back to the Big East Football Power Rankings. Every week the editors of SB Nation's Big East blogs will cast their vote in an attempt to measure the current state of the Big East. The results are below.

Once again it seems like the best way to improve your standing in the Big East is to not play at all. West Virginia held onto its unanimous first place spot after resting, and Syracuse climbed into the top four. On the other hand, both Pittsburgh and South Florida were severely punished for losing to Utah and UConn, respectively.

Speaking of UConn, they're not in last! They're not even second-to-last! But its kind of a hollow victory for the Huskies because of just how much the voters punished USF (dropping the Bulls from 4th to 7th). That sort of drop says a lot about the respect the Huskies have.
