The worst part about losing to Louisville was not the loss itself. It was that it meant UConn's game against Notre Dame tonight turned into a defacto must-win. Explaining this probably defeats the whole idea but...
I have a time-tested theory that whenever I am positive about something, the sports fates will come back to smack me down in hilarious ways. It’s why I was meant to be a Jets fan, for example.

Since we’re talking about soccer, I saw on PTI they’re talking about banning that PK move the Brazillians invented, which I can’t believe, because it is amazing and hilarious. I’ll search for a video, but if someone knows the name that’ll help.

…it’s that we’re bad the exact same ways every game, and those weaknesses cost us every loss, and we have yet to correct these mistakes that are, with hard work, very correctable.

Unless I’ve missed something, I’ve never heard anyone at UConn refer to our school as “The Conn”. Even when drunk. Where the fuck did Reese get this?
You cannot win without being able to shoot the 3.
Look at how Notre Dame’s defense is set up: they’re backed off 2 or 3 feet, daring us to shoot. So no one can penetrate without being drawn into a double-team, which they can also do because even if we kick it out, we’re not going to hit the shot.
Meanwhile, Notre Dame’s guards are just working our guys every time down the floor, and we haven’t been able to guard a pick-and-roll in about five years.

It’s like these talking heads haven’t watched us play all year. They trot out the same dog and pony show about how great Dyson is and Sticks and all that but they haven’t been great all year and anyone who has seen more than three of our games knows this. I wish Knight would waffle Dyson with a chair then piss on his wound.

They look at numbers, most of them
Dyson puts up 19 points per game, but for as many possessions as he handles the ball, he’s inefficient as hell.
Robinson puts up double doubles usually and he’s got OMG athleticism, but all of his points come off putbacks and dunks. He can’t create his own shot.
