Around SBN: The Pros and Cons of an 18-game NFL Schedule

Like many of you, I'm still feeling the pain from yesterday's brutal loss. I have next to no desire to talk about UConn today, so I thought I'd share this instead. As we all know, Hasheem Thabeet, formerly of the Memphis Grizzlies, has been demoted to the NBA's D-League. I never spent a lot of time thinking about the D-League before last week, but since it was brought to my attention, I've found myself sucked into SBNation's D-League blog "Ridiculous Upside" (or, if you prefer Hasheem ThaBlog). The guys over there really know their stuff, plus there is a ton of Thabeet coverage, so go check it out, if only to get your mind off yesterday's debacle.

Appreciate the nice words, Andrew

Since I’m sure you guys don’t care much about the daily trials and tribulations of the D-League, here’s a link specifically to the section of RU I’ve dubbed “”http://www.ridiculousupside.com/section/hasheem-thablog" target="new">Hasheem ThaBlog".

I blog at Ridiculous Upside. I know you'll love it.

Even better. Thanks.

Though I still recommend the entire blog, because A) Its really well done and B) It is the only place on the internet where the Filipino National Basketball Team and the Souix Falls Skyforce share a page.

I like the title of the YouTube video

It says, “Thabeet shines in win.”

If only we didn’t know better, then this would have been quite exciting.

Although, this demotion will definitely hurt Thabeet’s ego and confidence a bit, I think it’s a good thing for him in the end. He wasn’t ready for the NBA – we all knew that – but we also understood their were extenuating circumstances for him.

There’s no doubt he is a very athletic big-man, so hopefully just getting more basketball experience will help him improve and eventually get back to the NBA.
