It baffles me as yes a female, but first and foremost a basketball fan, that people do not seem to understand the magnitude of Uconn women's streak. Yes they play a game where skill and teamwork over-powers athleticism and one-on-one play. The game is played under the rim and is somewhat known for several missed layups, but that does not take away from the fact that this Division I program will soon be holding the longest consecutive streak in NCAA Basketball history. This program has had no accusations of steroid use, academic fraud, violence or prison time, yet many feel that this streak still deserves an asteric due to their gender. I feel like the real question isn't who is truly counting, but who's choice it is to say it counts?
